Bringing together three talented creative women and having them all agree to work on a passion project of mine made me a bit nervous. What if they weren’t feeling my vision? Luckily for me they were all so kind and open to share their wonderful talents. Somehow I convinced them to create this visual motion love note to late 60’s early 70’s fashion and culture. We all had fun discussing clothing options, figuring out last minute makeup changes and running around breaking down sets and photographing in time capsule floor to ceiling wood panel rooms. The energy was positive and high momentum, perfect conditions for a vintage inspired fashion photo/video shoot.
The visual graphics were inspired by actual fashion photography archives that I came across while researching for this project. The color block choice came directly from various 70’s photo shoots in fashionmagazines and movie poster graphics. I wanted to incorporate those same color block graphics in the video, making sure the graphics were meticulusly edited to move into frame to the bass beat of Chicago’s 1969 25 or 6 to 4 song

It wasn't until after the photoshoot that I realized how much Maxine resembled the late Sharon Tate. In a way I wanted to pay tribute to Sharon and decided to montage a few clips of her movies into the video. I made sure to select certain edits to help with the narrative. Two minutes and weeks of work behind it. But alot of fun creating. Thanks for reading and watching.
